【Abstract】 The law of demand is the theoretical basis for the effective allocation of resources by the market mechanism.However,economists are still debating whether there exist Giffen goods,an exception to the law of demand.Most scholars believe in their existence and try to prove it practically or theorically.Some scholars have no such belief,but can’t give convincing evidence.This paper attempts to clarify the concept of Giffen goods,sort out some misunderstandings,and strictly prove its inexistence.This paper also proves the law of diminishing marginal rate of substitution which is generally considered unprovable.更多还原
